Sebastian Vettel is a German Formula 1 racing driver, currently driving for the Austrian racing team Infiniti Red Bull Racing.
He is the current World Champion, having won the 2010, 2011 and 2012 championships. In his first year driving for Red Bull (2009), Vettel finished the season as World Drivers' championship runner-up. With winning the title in 2010, 11 and 2012 - three times in a row - he is now the youngest triple champion in history.
Born in Heppenheim, his dream of becoming a racing driver began aged 3, when he climbed into his first go-kart and refused to get out. At 7, he was the youngest racer at the Kerpen-Manheim track where Schumacher started out. He finished second and was awarded his trophy by his hero, Michael Schumacher. Aged 8 he began racing in the Kart Series, winning a series of titles including German Junior Karting Championship, Monaco Kart Cup and the European Junior Karting Championship. Vettel upgraded to racing cars in 2002 after winning the Senior ICA Kart Championship and holds numerous ‘Youngest Formula 1’ titles.
